WOWK12

Introduction to AI · Grades 6–8

AI learning your students can put into practice.

WOWK12: Introduction to AI is a hands-on course for middle school students in grades 6–8. Students customize games, create AI artwork, and build a personal website while practicing how to ask clear questions, test results, and explain their choices.

A course for school enrichment and technology learning

Use the 16-lesson sequence to plan a middle school enrichment course, technology club, or school-run after-school program. Sessions are designed for 60–90 minutes. English and Spanish materials help instructors introduce the same concepts in either language. No prior coding experience is needed.

Visible projects, explainable learning

A changed game gives students something concrete to investigate. They can adjust a setting, predict its effect, play, and compare the result with their prediction. Conversations connect this process to AI mistakes, patterns, fairness, privacy, and creative credit. The final WOW Expo asks students to show their work and explain how they used AI.

Adults control the classroom

Students use school-managed access instead of personal consumer chatbot accounts. Authorized staff open and close sections, and lesson policy controls available tools. Student prompts are screened, generated images have safety checks, and instructors can review activity in their own sections.

Plan a pilot with your team

Bring your grade levels, group size, schedule, and learning goals to a demo. Review the student workspace, instructor materials, browser and Chromebook access, staffing, and pricing. Include your technology or school leadership team to review authorization, consent, retention, deletion, and provider requirements before launch.
